Service & repair

Central Texas dust, cedar pollen, and hard water.

Cleaning is oversold in this industry, so here is the honest version: on a rain-washed array in a clean area it is close to pointless. Under Austin's cedar pollen, caliche dust, and sprinkler overspray, soiling is measurable — and we measure it.

What this includes

What you actually get.

We tell you if it is worth doing

We check production against the soiling we can see. If cleaning will not recover enough to justify the visit, we will say so rather than sell you a wash.

The Austin-specific offenders

Cedar pollen in late winter, caliche dust after dry spells, and hard-water scale from sprinklers hitting the array — that last one etches glass if it is left.

Deionised water, no detergents

Detergents leave a film that attracts more dirt, and abrasives void panel warranties. Deionised water dries without spotting on our hard water.

Inspected while we are up there

Cleaning puts a technician on the roof anyway, so we check mounts, flashing, wiring and connectors while we have access. The inspection is often worth more than the wash.
